This year, the FDA has prioritized renewed investment in core food safety programs that protect and promote public health. This includes the implementation of the New Era of Smarter Food Safety Blueprint. The blueprint is intended to reduce the number of illnesses attributed to FDA-regulated goods. The plan outlines realistic goals to enhance traceability, improve predictive analytics, respond more rapidly to outbreaks, as well as address new business models and foster the development of stronger food safety cultures.
